Event Description:

Government Affairs Committee – Advocacy That Builds Our Future

Each month, the Government Affairs Committee gathers to discuss the policy issues that matter most to our members and the building industry. These meetings provide timely updates, access to local decision-makers, and practical knowledge to help members navigate the regulatory landscape.

What We Do

Our monthly meetings often include:

  • Guest speakers from local, state, and regional government
  • Advocate for the construction industry and address systemic barriers for housing affordability.
  • Legislative and code update briefings
  • Candidate interviews during election cycles to help inform our membership and shape industry advocacy priorities

The Affordable Housing Council

The Government Affairs Committee works closely with the Affordable Housing Council of Kitsap, our political action arm dedicated to supporting candidates and policies that promote attainable housing, a vibrant building industry, and responsible growth.
Members interested in deeper engagement, candidate vetting, or supporting pro-housing policy efforts will find the AHC to be a vital extension of our advocacy work.
