Build A Better Christmas
Did you know there are children in our shared communities who have been uprooted from their homes and now living in a shelter or transitional homes?
Build a Better Christmas is a program funded by the Home Builders Foundation. Throughout the year, the Foundation receives donations from KBA members and friends intended for this annual program. With these funds, our volunteer shoppers go out and purchase Christmas gifts for the women and children, some as young as 3 months old, who live in the YWCA Alive Shelter during the holidays. The YWCA provides information on the families, such as each individual's age, clothing sizes, wants, needs, etc., so shoppers can eliminate the guesswork of picking out gifts. Build a Better Christmas helps alleviate stress for these families and provides a good dose of Christmas cheer. This is a wonderful program and a great way to lend a helping hand to those in need during the holidays. We welcome and encourage any KBA members to participate, learn more about the program, and volunteer!
